Davies report says no more all-male boards on FTSE 100
BBC News reports that FTSE 100 companies have doubled the number of female board members in the past 4 years after setting voluntary goals. Women now make up 25% of the top 100 boards, but more needs to be done. Former UK trade minister Lord Davies plans to tackle this, in part, by implementing a series of " equality-boosting measures" which the UK Government hopes to introduce in the first half of 2016.
Nepal's parliament elects nation's first female president - Associated Press
Binaj Gurubacharya reports that "Nepal has been trying to shift from a traditionally male-dominated society, where women are mostly limited to working at homes or on farms, to one in which women have equal access to opportunities and legal rights." Electing their first female president is a strong start.
