Message from your PTSA President

Happy Valentine's Day!

If you happen to be starting some spring cleaning, we would appreciate having you set aside any clothing or textiles you are purging.  We will be collecting donations in ANY condition next month to benefit our PTSA programs.  It's a win- win to be able to freshen up those closets while supporting the students at Eastlake!

Last week our board voted to recommend endorsement of the upcoming bond in the April election.  Please join us on Feb. 24th at 6:30 pm to hear important bond information, and a chance to vote for endorsement.  This will be followed by a "Teens and Stress" presentation, which is open to all parents in our district.  We hope you will enjoy this timely information as students are entering their final semester and gearing up for potentially busy and stressful spring days ahead.

Enjoy your mid-winter break!

New Unified Sports Club at EHS
This club will be kicking off its EHS Chapter this month. We are excited to be working with Special Olympics Washington to bring this new club to our high school. The charter of Unified Sports is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. We will start by playing basketball on Thursdays in the gym during STP from 7:00 to 8:15 am. For more information please contact Kate Agnew, Faculty Advisor or Killian Pache, President. Volunteers will receive community service hours.

Vaping - Do you know what it is?
We hear about vaping in the news but may not have all the facts on what it is and how dangerous it can be for our kids. Click here for an informative article from Cathleen Leader, our Prevention Intervention Specialist.
