A flag now flies from the Space Needle thanking the Seahawks for their amazing season. The 12th man was there cheering as the buses brought the team back from Arizona. The 12th Man feels responsible to keep the faith and rally around the team. Every 12 wants to see the Seahawks come back just as strong, try just as hard, and hopefully secure yet another Super Bowl invitation and the 12s want to make sure the team knows it. How cool is that?
Wouldn't it be nice to take just a little piece of that energy and funnel it into our own hometown heroes? Like our students at Eastlake High School. Please consider joining the PTSA and being the 12th man for our students here at Eastlake. Cheering for them when they succeed as well as supporting them when they may lose their own "Superbowl."
Like the 12s, the larger our presence, the more noise we can make and the more support we can give to our Eastlake team. Please be a PTSA 12 and help give our students at EHS the best support we can give them. To join the PTSA, please click here to join our team!

What is a Baccalaureate Ceremony? Is it the same as Graduation?
Baccalaureate is a completely separate ceremony from Graduation. The term generally refers to a non-denominational ceremony held a few days before high school or college graduation. Unlike the massive commencement exercises held in stadiums or arenas, baccalaureate ceremonies offer a quieter, more intimate opportunity to pause and reflect on this rite of passage, hear a keynote speaker, a faculty member and student speakers offer advice to the graduating class and enjoy students' musical talents.
Why are we asking for $15-$20 per family donation for this event?
This event is held at a church and is completely separate from the school activities. It is run by volunteers and is funded completely by parents. It is a beautiful memory and holds rich traditions for the Eastlake community. We send out information via mail, make invites and programs, rent church facilities, a/v people, provide refreshments and decor, pay for a keynote speaker, and provide candles for the candle lighting moment. To donate, you can mail or send a check to school or simply donate online. So mark your calendar for the evening of Tuesday, June 9, 2015. For any questions or comments, contact Amy McComber or Suzi Latham, baccalaureate co-chairs at [email protected].
Their first committee meeting will be tomorrow, February 9 at 5:00 pm. Contact Suzi if you are interested in volunteering for this special event.
