A message from your PTSA president

It has been a busy fall for our PTSA board and volunteer members. We have provided many programs and events to enrich your students' experience here at EHS. We have been fundraising through different venues so that we can supplement the EHS learning environment through our Grants program.

Come and join us at our General Membership meeting this Wednesday, November 19, at 6:30 pm, in the EHS Library to hear about these proposed grants. With the general membership's approval, we can then get these funds working in the classrooms. Immediately following our meeting will be a parent education seminar on "How to Navigate Haiku." As always, we value your questions and feedback to help us continue to do our best work for your students.

The programs provided through PTSA are great resources to promote a safe, healthy, and positive environment in our school and Eastlake community.

If you haven't had a chance to join us, volunteer, or contribute to our annual fundraiser, it's never too late.  Do it today!

Health Room Volunteers Needed

The school nurse is still looking for volunteers to help in the EHS Health Room. The shifts are two hours each:  8 - 10 am (except for STP Thursdays, which would start at 8:30), 10 am - 12 pm, 12 - 2 pm (except Wednesdays). This an easy way to volunteer for a few hours when you're available. You're not obligated to work every week! Please contact Julie Carper if you're interested in volunteering.

Eastlake Angels - PJ Fundraiser

People have been asking how to support Eastlake Angels if they don't need any pajamas. Monetary donations are gratefully accepted. Simply make a check payable to EHS PTSA and write "Eastlake Angels" on the memo line. Contributions are tax deductible and qualify for corporate matching. Checks can be dropped off in the EHS Main Office or mailed to:  EHS PTSA, 400 228th Avenue NE, Sammamish WA  98074.

Eastlake Angels is a new, behind-the-scenes PTSA program to meet the needs of Eastlake students whose families are experiencing tough financial times and may need some extra help. This help can be in the form of food, school or sports supplies, or basic needs. All the details are here.

Corporate Matching = Double $$

You can double your donation to the EHS PTSA Annual Fundraiser by participating in your Employer's Corporate Matching Program. Many companies like Boeing, Microsoft, Amazon, PSE and Comcast will match your contribution to our PTSA. So far, your generous donations have helped us reach over $14K of our $19K goal! Employers also have Volunteer Programs that will make a donation to our PTSA based on the number of hours you volunteer at EHS. Check with your employer and sign-up now to participate. For more information, click here.

Recognition Wall Tiles

Located to the left of the main entrance, the Recognition Wall is home to hundreds of engraved tiles honoring our students and faculty. A recognition tile allows you to leave a permanent legacy on campus and displays your Eastlake pride. Tiles are installed each spring. Get creative! Tiles can be purchased online for students, families, teachers, teams, or groups. Highlight your senior's accomplishments or just wish them well. For more information on Recognition Wall Tiles, click here to view the flier. For more information, contact Stacy Cinderella

PTSA and College Readiness

Essay Evaluations

It's essay season; some students have already written their essays but really need them looked over by an independent professional to make sure they are college ready. In one hour, Adam with U-Link can evaluate your essay, give feedback and have it ready for sending. The fee is $100. This takes the onus away from the parents checking on their student's essay and knowing their student will be represented by an essay that speaks to who they are. Contact Adam R. Gervis, Independent Counselor specializing in college search, college essay and writing via website or phone 206-355-9786. Click here to sign up for  an appointment.  A portion of your fee goes to EHS PTSA!
