George Washington
Born February 22, 1732
Washington's Birthday is a United States federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday of February (17th in 2014). It is also commonly known as President's Day. Today, the February holiday has become well known for being a day in which many stores, especially car dealers, hold sales. Until the late 1980s, corporate businesses generally closed on this day.
There is no official proclamation or mention of this day in flag code but it it appropriate to celebrate the life of our first American President by flying your American flag at full staff. |
