MAKE MORE MEMORIES

The fourth item on the list of New Year's Resolutions was to 'spend more quality time' or as I call it make more memories.  I'd like to tell you a story about my father and a phone call I got one day.  Now you must first understand my father never called me.  Over my lifetime mother would always call but my dad never did.  One day after work, as I was cooking dinner the phone rang and to my surprise the voice that answered me back was my father not my mother.  He said hello and asked me what I was doing.  I was a little in shock, but I told him I was cooking dinner and helping Eric with his homework.  He said something I will never forget:  "I wish I had those days to do over again."  You see, he had been diagnosed with colon and lung cancer and was about to start chemo. 

I tell you all this to remind you that we never know when 'our time' is up.  Don't get to the end and realize you should have spent more quality time with your loved ones.  If you are not having sit down dinners each evening with the family, well start!  At least make it happen 4 to 5 times a week.  Don't just drop off the kids at games, stay there and make a fool of yourself shouting at the referee like I used to do.  We try to get the whole Dallas area family together once a month; it's always someone's birthday or anniversary.  Grandparents, you need to go to those recitals whenever possible, even if you live in another town.  Just do it!  Fathers' have date nights with your daughters.  Mothers' take your son to lunch and ask him how everything is going.  Go on vacations occasionally with everyone.   You get the idea.

FOR THE ROMANTIC embrace ethereal embroidery, patterns of flowers modernized with geometrics, gold ornamentation, gladiator sandals and ring & bracelet combos.

AVOID high-waisted skinny pants if you have wide hips and heavy thighs.
