READ MY LIPS

 

Read my lips girls:  wear lipstick not Chap Stick!  Why?  You must finish the "Makeup Trinity" which is your Eyes, Cheeks, and your Lips with a little color too!  It's quite obvious to the beholder that something is missing.  Most of my clients wear eye makeup and blush, but soooo many wear no color on their lips.  They feel a little satisfied because they are wearing Chap Stick, but to the naked eye there is nothing there.  It's sort of like getting all dressed up in a beautiful suit or dress with all the accessories except for shoes, you are going barefoot!  So let's examine the excuses and find the solutions.

1)      "I haven't found a color I like."  Solution:  You are probably trying to wear the wrong base color.  You must know if you have cool or warm undertones to find the correct shade of lipstick.  Warm skin tones should wear colors with a yellow base and cool skin tones should wear colors with a blue base.  Remember, not all pinks and reds are equal.  Discover your natural skin tone and choose the right base color.

2)      "I have no lips so why bother."  Solution:  In the age of pouty, luscious lips, all of us with average to 'barely there' lips have a challenge.  For most, if you add a lip liner slightly darker than a frosted lip shade, you will get a fuller look.  But for the lipstick virgins a light peach or pink will complete the look without being too garish.

3)      "It just doesn't stay on, so why bother."  Solution:  Sorry girls, but you are going to have to re-apply if you drink coffee or tea, eat lunch, or lick your lips.  Just get over it.  Keep it on longer by blotting with makeup blotting paper (instead of tissue) and re-apply and blot again.  Long lasting lipsticks stay on great, but are sometimes very drying.

BOTTOM LINE:  Wear Lipstick and Complete The Look
