IT'S ALL ABOUT GREEN

I remember when I started Hello Gorgeous and I went to the chemist that was making the Aloe Products for the company that I had been working for. They unfortunately went out of business after a messy divorce. I explained that I loved the products, but they needed a few of the synthetic chemicals taken out and replaced with natural ones. It was not very easy convincing her that it could be done, but she gave in. For instance, I wanted glycerine (a natural humectant and binder) instead of propylene glycol (found in jet fuel and harsh cleaning agents). I wanted to use flower and vitamin extracts for coloring instead of FD&C red #34 or yellow #28. I wanted to remove all the parabens (which many report as carcinogenic) and put natural or more acceptable preservatives in my formulas.

Little did I know this would come to be known as GREEN. So to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and being GREEN for 30 years, I am discounting all the products with green lips on the front of the bottle!! That's all the Normal/Combination products (except for kits), Phyto-Tox Serum, and the Cucumber Eye Relief. 2014 SPRING TRENDS TO LOOK FOR OR MAYBE NOT

If you have ever read my trends articles, you know trends come and go and they are not for everyone. Let's take a look at what you will be seeing and if you should buy it or not!

Geometric Prints - I'm not sure why this is hanging around. I guess someone has figured out how to make fun prints on the computer and translate that to fabric. Anyway they are probably better in scarves, clutches, earrings, bracelets, or shoes unless you are really skinny and everything looks good on you.
Paisley - Think stylish hippies, if that is possible. They are putting paisleys on hats, shoes, cloth watch bands, purses, coats, bathing suits, and Louis Vuitton even has a paisley blanket. If you are wearing them on clothes, make sure the background is dark or this can add loads of pounds on.
Bright Colors - All the primary colors adorn coats, dresses, skirts, sandals, sunglasses, and watch dials. These can best be worn by Winters and Springs!! Remember accessorizing is the cheapest way to add trends to your wardrobe.
Tropical Prints - Think tropical prints gone urban. They c an be quite attractive, but they can be busy and bold. Clothes best for the skinny among us and for the rest of us, l et's add accessories like fabulous sandals or great necklaces.
Embellished Denim - I love this one. Everyone can wear denim. Boots, jackets, watches, shoes, jeans, clutches all made with denim and bling. I think I have some left over from the 80's!
Rose Gold - It's in all the jewelry pieces now, but it's not for me. It's great for all you Summers and Winters.
Orchid - The new 'it' color this Spring. I hate it. (Why don't you tell us how you really feel Helen.) This is a hard color to wear even for Winters, it is in their pallet of colors. If you must have it, just buy it in accessories, it won't be around long.
