GVHS Evaluations in CA
Over Labor Day weekend, the GVHS held its first Evaluation to take place in California! The Evaluations were held during the California Gypsy Horse Show and The Mother Lode Morgan Horse Show held at the Rancho Murieta Equestrian Center. The Evaluations were a great success and all the participants enjoyed having the GVHS presence at the show and for the event.
On Saturday night, prior to the Sunday Evaluations, things got off to a great start with the GVHS Evaluators, Heather Caudill and Dave Ayers, and Board of Director member, Debbie Noonan, attending a fun-filled evening including a BBQ dinner and dessert auction! Then came the main attraction which was entertainment featuring several Gypsy Vanners including an amazing dressage demonstration by Rachel Ward on Peperooga's Parnoo Ori. There were also several show classes that were held including Gypsy Costume Class, Gypsy Freestyle Class, and Gypsy Liberty Class. The large crowds in attendance at this event were all very enthusiastic and enjoyed seeing the horses perform!
The next morning, prior to the actual Evaluations, the Evaluators held a short educational session for participants to explain the Evaluation process. They also answered any questions that the participants had regarding the Evaluations. There were ten horses that had a Conformation- Movement Evaluation and one horse that had an English- Under Saddle Evaluation. The participants were so impressed by the Evaluation process and the Evaluators, that once the Evaluations were done they were already asking when the GVHS would be back to California to do another Evaluation.
A huge thank you goes to Stacy Sutton, Samantha Van Sickle, club members, and the show staff for all their help and support in coordinating and making this event with the GVHS happen. Also, big thanks to all the participants who attended and participated in the Evaluations. This event was a wonderful opportunity for the GVHS, its members and Gypsy Vanner owners to get together, meet one another and learn more about our breed and the Evaluation process!

DON'T FENCE ME IN!
When a Vanner stallion kicks up its heels and runs across a pasture, it all but calls out, with class, presence and style,
"Hey! Look at me! I am special. I can do anything.
Don't fence me in!"
The
GVHS is pleased to announce availability of this new Gypsy Vanner figurine
(A portion of all sales go towards the GVHS.)
