REGISTRATION COMMITTEE

Did you know that the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society has a Registration Committee consisting of six members who are working 'behind the scenes' of the Registration process on a regular basis?  These consist of five 'regular' members and one 'alternate' who steps in when one of the five regular members is not available.

The Committee is responsible to review the Registration applications, particularly the photos, of all horses to the Registry whose sire AND dam are not in the Regular GVHS Studbook.   For a horse to be approved by the Committee, four of the five Committee members reviewing the horse must agree.  If a committee member declines to accept the horse for registration they must convey the reason in writing (email) to the Registrar.

Committee members are appointed by the Board of Directors and serve a three year term. There are no limits to the number of terms a member may serve.   The current Registration Committee members are:
Anne Crowley
Carol Dunbar
Sheila Gordon
Mandy Kramar
Kim Osborne
Rita Susgin.

Thank you to all Committee members for their significant work with the Registration process!

Effective March 31, 2014, the terms of Sheila Gordon and Rita Susgin will end and the Board is seeking interested members to fill these positions.  The following requirements apply.

1. Each Committee member must have attended/ completed a GVHS training seminar (This could include Judges & Breeders training seminars and Annual Meetings with a significant Educational component.  If you are unsure if an event you have attended qualifies,  please ask.)

2. Registration Committee members must be general or lifetime members of the GVHS in good standing.

3. Registration Committee members must sign the GVHS Code of Ethics.

4. A Registration Committee member must have access to high speed internet and email service, and the ability to respond in a timely manner.

5. No Registration Committee member should be actively judging GVHS horses during their term.

Qualified and interested candidates, please submit your name and the date of the training session that you attended to the Executive Director by March 1, 2014.
