We've recently added a YRT option to our Term/GUL spreadsheet quote engine, specifically for American National's dynamite YRT.

 

Whereas most YRT products are not priced competitively, and 10 year term generally makes more sense, American National's YRT is priced ultra-low, so that the cross-over cumulative premium doesn't generally exceed that of 10 year term until year seven. 

 

Why use a YRT product?

  • It's perfect for a "jumbo" business buy-out scenario, when a large life policy is only needed for a few years
  • And, it's perfect for short term loans

Annuity Plans  

 

With so many different indexed annuities to choose from, it's important to recognize different features within them.  This month's focus is on Protective Life's product, Indexed Annuity II, and it's consumer oriented, peace-of-mind features:

  • Option Return of Premium - allows the annuitant to surrender for their entire original deposit any time he/she would like it
  • The best "nursing home" waiver - After the first year, a portion or all of the contract value may be withdrawn without penalty if the annuitant or the annuitant's spouse, are confined to a nursing facility for at least 30 days.
