How can you still help clients that simply will not purchase the amount of life insurance coverage they really need?  See our Sales Tip below.
Life Plans

Protective Life has announced an agreement to be acquired by Japanese insurer Dai-ichi Life Company.  The deal is reported to be worth over $5 billion.

Dai-ichi Life is Japan's second largest private-sector life insurer.  The move is seen as a way to ensure future company growth, as the Japanese domestic market is expected to shrink due to population forecasts.  It is expected that Japan's population will shrink 14% by 2035.

The acquisition is not expected to close until year-end.  Protective's CEO and senior management team will remain in place.  Day-to-day operations will not be significantly affected.  Protective anticipates the relationship will provide them with expansion opportunities that may have taken longer to achieve on their own.

SalesTipSales Tip

It's a fact.  In 2012, LIMRA reported a jaw-dropping $15.3 trillion deficit of unmet life insurance needs in the U.S.  And, even though it takes almost $1 million on the average to replace a lost annual income of $50K, most consumers balk at purchasing the amounts they really need.Success

How do you overcome this?  With your clients age 40 and under, try suggesting a Guaranteed Insurability Rider.  Compare the following for a Male 35, Preferred Non-Tobacco for $250K of GUL:
  • Annual premium without the GIR is $1,260
  • Annual premium with the GIR is only $1,315

The number of times the GIR can be exercised is dependent on the initial issue age.  The younger the issue age, the more times it can be used.  Ask for GIR on your next UL/GUL and Term quotes.

Thank you for your time and your business!
