Find a Church

When pain of the world surrounds us
"On September 11, 2016, we will mark the fifteenth anniversary of the horrid destruction of the World Trade Center and we will again confront the raw wounds that will never be completely healed this side of heaven," writes Bishop Rimbo. Read his full pastoral letter including prayer resources here. Share how your congregation plans to mark this day here

Called to be a publically engaged church
As a publically engaged church, we do God's work in the world. There is no aspect of life in which God is not active, no place where God is not present. As such, the ELCAvotes initiative helps to provide faith based resources to help encourage conversations about voting rights and elections. Newly released resources include a Bible Study on Voting Rights Today, a Civic Participation and Voter Education Guide, and Fact and Activity Sheet on Race and Voting. Learn more about the initiative, led by ELCA Advocacy, ELCA Racial Justice Ministries, and ELCA Young Adult Ministry, here

My son's future
Let us work to have tough conversations about racism and prejudice without fear of judgment, persecution or resentment. Let us find resurrection out of death, and work towards a future where my patients can continue the same joy and laughter at age 60 as they do at age 6 months," writes Joel Bumol on the Anti-Racism Task Force Blog. "As a parent of a young black man, I implore that we start today. My son's life may depend on it." Read the full post here
