Bishop Rimbo and the synod staff appreciate the welcome hospitality provided by our local congregations and partner organizations as we visit and help proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ and share the mission of our ministries each week. In the past two weeks, our staff was warmly received by the following communities: Our Saviour, Croton-on-Hudson; Koinonia, Highland Lake; St. Paul's, New City; All Saints, Woodhaven; Advent, Manhattan; St. James-St. Matthew, South Ozone Park; St. Andrew's, Yorktown Heights, and Churchwide Assembly in New Orleans. Thank you!

Freed and Renewed in Christ Holy One, you formed the church to announce the words of eternal life to the world. Equip the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America which concluded its Churchwide Assembly yesterday to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. Gather the church together into one body for the sake of our shared mission to tell of the love of God. Filled with your Word, turn the church inside out so that we might live lives that proclaim your freedom and renewal to all the world. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

My son's future Let us work to have tough conversations about racism and prejudice without fear of judgment, persecution or resentment. Let us find resurrection out of death, and work towards a future where my patients can continue the same joy and laughter at age 60 as they do at age 6 months," writes Joel Bumol on the Anti-Racism Task Force Blog. "As a parent of a young black man, I implore that we start today. My son's life may depend on it." Read the full post here.
