Stewardship Commitment Emphasis Making Christ #1
Who is Christ in your life? What place does he take in the many priorities we set before ourselves? The Metropolitan New York Synod Stewardship and Mission Support Table has developed a program of stewardship commitment emphasis to train stewardship committees, mobilize spiritual formation groups for lay people, and involve pastors in a synod-wide pulpit exchange. Learn more and download the 2016 Synod-wide Stewardship Emphasis.

Watch and share
Our most recent assembly featured opportunities for participants to confront racism in our church and world. We celebrated our connections with our both regional and global partners in ministry. We committed ourselves to listening, building relationships, and finding courageous ways towards reconciliation. We showed you a video recap of the whole assembly in June. Find videos of sermons, greetings, and keynote presentations here. Stay tuned for more videos from our assembly to watch and share.

Our Wider Church

Freed and Renewed in Christ
The fourteenth Churchwide Assembly, the primary decision-making body of the church, will meet August 8-13, 2016 to discuss and make decisions about how to go about God's work as a church. Click here to learn more about this assembly and the discernment and decisions voting members will be participating in. Watch these pages for live video of the assembly. Consider using this prayer of intercession during worship this week:
Let us pray for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and its members who gather this week in its Churchwide Assembly. Inspire the celebration of God's varied works throughout the church. Instill your peace in the midst of the work you have called us to and the deliberations that will take place. Shape the work of the church according to your will for the whole world.
Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.
