Find a Church

A Place for All
Do the people in our pews reflect the people in our neighborhoods? If not, how do we take steps to invite and welcome our neighbors to participate in the work of this church? How do we engage with and advocate for vulnerable populations? As members of the ELCA, we believe that we are a church that belongs to Christ. There is a place for everyone here. Yet contentment, fear, or racism - individual and institutional - can hold us back from being the diverse, welcoming church that Christ calls us to be. Join Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton as she explores these questions in a live webcast on Wednesday, May 25, at 8 pm (EST). Learn more here.
Synod Assembly News

Thank you!
Did you know that over 95 voices gave input to our synod assembly? Or that we heard from over 75 voices during plenary sessions and worship? Thank you to everyone who gave input, shared their stories, volunteered, and who committed to confronting racism in our synod and society. Stay turned for more wrap up of our time together.

In this 10th anniversary year of the publication of Evangelical Lutheran Worship you are invited to attend an event focusing on Lutheran worship in our current context. Pastors, musicians, lay leaders, and worship committees: whether you have extensive experience with ELW, are exploring it for the first time, or use other materials for your community's worship, you will find a place at these gatherings. Working Preacher Presents: The Craft of Preaching
Do you ever wonder what's "behind the scenes" of some of the sermons you get to hear at big preaching conferences with "famous" preachers? Have you always wanted a practical preaching conference where you can learn some new "how-to's" for constructing a sermon and honing your homiletical skills? This three-day lifelong learning course from Luther Seminary will do that and more. Learn more about this October 3-5 event here

White privilege? I thought we were talking about racism
"What has become clear to me is that I am the product of a system of privilege that has rendered me functionally unconscious of that privilege, leaving me unable to see how it oppresses my brothers and sisters of color, and how it oppresses me," writes Pr. David Parsons in the Anti-Racism Task Force's blog. Read the full blog post with concepts and tools for understanding the need to work for change
