Starting conversations about race
While watching "Confronting Racism", Cynthia Corley, a member of New Hope, Jamaica, got the idea to take the conversation further into her congregation. In February, New Hope hosted a screening of the movie Selma, staying after to talk about their own experiences. Watch what happened here.
You can start the conversation in your congregation using the resources on our Racial Justice Webpage.

He is Risen!
"Without the resurrection, we are without hope," writes Bishop Robert A. Rimbo. "With the resurrection, through all the difficulties of life, we can go on because we know the end of the story. The end is in the strong hands of God who raised Jesus from the dead. Without the resurrection we have nothing to say to a hurting, unsteady world. With the Resurrection we have truly good news." Read and share his Easter message here.
Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton provided an Easter message saying, "The seed has been planted in all the barren places in the world and in our lives. That gives us the power and the hope - especially in the face of our brokenness - to see life where the world only sees death ... in refugee camps and hospice units, in parched earth and in oods, in oppression and denied justice we are bold to confess." For Rostered Leaders

Take a healthy step
Last year 67.83% of pastors, spouses, and other ELCA-Primary members in our synod took the Mayo Clinic health assessment. Worth more than $1 million collectively, the health discount is a valuable reward. But the real reward is greater health - among ELCA leaders, congregations, and church budgets. This year, we have only reached 21.68% participation in our synod. Take a step towards better health and take your health assessment before April 30!
