Governor's office partners with Community Action to distribute coats to low-income children

Governor Kasich's Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives is partnering with the Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies (OACAA) and seven Community Action Agencies to provide 2,941 new coats to low-income children this winter. The program, which is funded by Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and is subsidized by Operation Warm, will benefit children at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level... Read more

Land Bank give $583,316 to 5 groups
LUCAS COUNTY - The Lucas County Land Bank has awarded more than a half-million dollars in grants to five area organizations for home construction and rehabilitation, authorities said Wednesday.

The recipients are "very worthy organizations in our community, all promoting the land bank's goals of home ownership and strong neighborhoods," said Wade Kapszukiewicz, Lucas County treasurer and land bank chairman. Read more.
