Teens get creative to combat check cashing stores
A trio of Money Coach teens from Messmer H.S. share their anti-check cashing store "pledge." 
Some students rapped. Others put on skits. There were paper piggybanks and PowerPoints to the student body. Teens in our Money Coach program let their creativity lead the way in a competition to warn peers about the risks of using check cashing stores.

MPS leader takes top state financial education honor

Gregory Ogunbowale, or "Mr. O", the principal at James Madison Academic Campus in Milwaukee, was recently honored as one of the Wisconsin's leaders in financial education. 

Principal Ogunbowale has been a steady champion for financial literacy at his MPS high school. He has partnered with the National Academy Foundation on a finance program and works regularly with Make A Difference - Wisconsin to bring financial literacy and mentoring to JMAC's fantastic students. Join us in congratulating Mr. O and his students on this great honor!

Investment Conference keynote: financial literacy "vital"

Byron Trott, the keynote for our 8th annual Investment Conference, passed along his takeaway on teaching financial literacy to youth:

"Financial literacy is a vital but often neglected topic for families at all income levels. Without engaging children, especially teenagers, on money matters, you may be burdening them with financial ignorance."

Volunteers: online training just got even easier

We have streamlined access to online training for volunteers who want to enhance their lessons. Now, your volunteer profile and training are all in one place. For online training:

1) From our homepage, click on "Volunteer Log In" in the top right corner.
2) Enter your user name and password.
3) Once the volunteer profile page loads, click on the "Online Training" link in the menu on the left (see screenshot).
