There were 386 boats, including 7 kayaks, enjoyed fishing the entire day.  The previous 2005 record of 317 fish caught was broken last year as well.
Top ten winners in the Tournament shared $99,150 in cash prizes and eleventh-twentieth place winners shared in merchandise worth over $10,000. Boat Side Bet payout totaled $50,716.25 and Skunk Bets totaled $5,135.46, with total payout in all categories over $155,000!
Roughly 38% of anglers entered were from Anchorage and 40% from Homer. The other 22% came from Outside and other towns in Alaska.

WHAT ARE NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS?

A New Year's resolution is a tradition in which a person makes a promise to do an act of self-improvement beginning on New Year's Day

Less than half of us actually make resolutions for the New Year and it's a rare individual that actually keeps that resolution throughout the year...but if you still feel compelled to make New Year's resolutions, here are some tips to help you make them work:
  • Focus on one resolution, rather than several and set realistic, specific and time-bound goals. Losing weight is not a specific goal. Losing 10 pounds in three months is specific.
  •  Don't wait till New Year's Eve to make resolutions. Make it a year-long process, every day.
  •  Take small steps. Many people quit because the goal is too big requiring too much effort and action all at once.
  • Have an accountability buddy, someone close to you to whom you have to report.
  •  Celebrate your success between milestones. Don't wait for the goal to be finally completed.
  •  Focus your thinking on new behaviors and thought patterns. You have to create new neural pathways in your brain to change habits.
  •  Focus on the present. What's the one thing you can do today, right now, towards your goal?
  •  Be mindful. Become physically, emotionally and mentally aware of your inner state as each external event happens, moment-by-moment, rather than living in the past or future.
Enjoy each & every day...try to be better than you were yesterday...this is how you will have a successful 2016!

Family News
John & Delores Lindeman have 5 daughters

Ronna, Kristi, Kelli, Angela, & Corrie
~
These 5 daughters are all married and combined they have 16 children.  We try to all get together at least 3-4 days around Christmas.  This year we had 31 for Christmas Eve and 32 for Christmas Day at Diamond M Ranch Resort. So if you are doing the math...that's not adding up.  Blair's parents and Corrie's Mother-in-Law were able to join us. Zach Wells, my dad's twin brother's grandson, Jim Palmer, family friends from way back, and Corey Smithwick, an addition to the Martin family, also joined in the FUN/Chaos!!  Nevermind the math because it gets complicated!
The large wooden floor allows us to make the entire room a living room for opening gifts or a dining room for
Christmas Dinner.

We are an active family so part of our tradition is to have a Christmas Eve Ski Race.

This year we had a 4x4 relay.  Winning team on first race was led by 3 time Olympian Skier, Todd Boonstra, followed by Mackenzie, Tania and John Lindeman himself.

Christmas Day Hike to Kenai River.
