Now, they are building a good life on five acres they own and another five acres they rent from members of the Howard family.

Haven Caf� and Bakery, of Lenox and Great Barrington, will be participating in the Harvest Supper on Monday September 21st. Haven at the Harvest Supper 2014, photo by Reinout van Wagtendonk. 

Throughout the year, Haven's owner Shelly Williams, buys as many ingredients as possible from local sources, taking care to get organic whenever possible. Her eggs come from farms in the greater Berkshire area. In Shelly Williams' world, ingredients matter. "If you don't start there, all of the techniques you master won't make it right. You need to have a 100 percent commitment to your ingredients."
