Greetings!
Is your high school student hoping to "kick it into high gear" this year? Knowledge Edge has several great opportunities to prepare your student for the challenges of high school and ACT/SAT preparation.
Studying harder doesn't necessarily mean studying LONGER--it usually means studying SMARTER. Your high school student will gain expertise on test taking, note taking and organization/time management in our High School Study Skills Workshop offered in August. Read below for details! Also, there are still a few openings in the middle school Study Skills program offered through the MT Rec Dept.
New juniors will also benefit from having a baseline ACT or SAT score to shape their preparation plans this year. A FREE practice test is available August 1 and August 5. Details at left!
If your middle or elementary school student struggled at the end of last year or if you want to give them a jump start on this school year, it's not too late for a diagnostic test. Your child can sharpen his or her math or reading skills in August and start the school year strong!

The Study Skills class is Monday August 19-Thursday August 22 are there are a limited number of openings for this class.

Study Skills for High School Students--Work Smarter!
If your high school student wants to "step it up a notch" this year as far as academics, Knowledge Edge can help!
We are offering an 8-hour High School Study Skills class for students entering 9th-11th grade. Sessions will be August 20, 22, 27 and 29 from 2 - 4. Topics covered will be organization/time management, test preparation; note-taking during lectures; from texts and other sources; and reading and mnemonic devices. The cost will be $350.

Study Skills for Students = Executive Functioning Skills for Adults
The attached article discusses the link between what are referred to as "executive functioning skills" and effective study skills. A student may be bright, verbal and have strong reading skills yet not be effective at managing the processes needed to apply knowledge, reasoning and memory to achieve specific goals.
