The Source: Commodity Updates Your source for learning how weather and other conditions across the country and the globe affect the quality, availability, and pricing of your fresh fruits and produce.
Stone Fruit - California Peaches and Nectarine are readily available with excellent quality being reported. Lacking the freezing temperatures needed for a good fruit set means the next varieties will have less fruit on the trees and mostly larger fruit.
Watermelon - Most production is coming from Sonora, MX; with some light supplies from southern California. The market is firming up with demand for Memorial Day weekend.
Oranges - The California Navel crop is dropping off and California Valencias have started. Labor to pick the fruit has become an issue with the labor force split to pick the stone fruits as well. Demand is exceeding supplies on 113ct.
