The Source: Commodity Updates Your source for learning how weather and other conditions across the country and the globe affect the quality, availability, and pricing of your fresh fruits and produce.
ALERT: Strawberries - California growing areas received rain today. This would be a good thing, however the Mother's Day pull begins next week. (The Mother's Day pull is the biggest foodservice pull of the year for strawberries.) Quality issues will include: bruising, water damage, light decay, mold, white shoulders, and green tips. Expect these issues even from the best labels. It will take 7 - 10 days for the plants to recover from this rain. Order only what you will need as strawberries will not hold up like you are used to. We will make every effort to accommodate your orders.
Stone Fruits - Apricots are now available with good quality. Peaches and Nectarines should be available next week. Plums will be later.
