Greetings!

Happy Holidays! This year has been an exciting one for All Our Kin, full of tremendous growth. As families continue to struggle with the economic crisis, we have been working hard to ensure that parents have the child care they need to continue supporting their families and that children spend their days in safe, loving, educational environments. We partnered with agencies across the state to train family child care providers in the use of Connecticut's Early Learning Guidelines, have begun to license providers in Bridgeport, Norwalk and greater Fairfield county, and will soon be launching an Earn Benefits program that will help families identify and access much-needed resources.

Your support for All Our Kin makes it possible for children to receive the high-quality early learning experiences they need and deserve; furnishes working parents with more child care options; and empowers caregivers with the skills and resources they need to move out of poverty and open successful child care businesses. We are enormously grateful to you for making our work possible. Each one of you is essential to our success, and we cannot possibly thank you enough.

We are looking forward to continuing our work this upcoming year, as we strive to ensure that our communities' women and children have the foundations they need to succeed.

All our best for a joyous holiday and happy New Year,

Jessica and Janna

Last month, we held two great events at the Children's Museum and the state capitol in Hartford to celebrate the economic evaluation of the Family Child Care Tool Kit Licensing Program. The evaluation, conducted by the University of Connecticut Center for Economic Analysis, revealed that the Tool Kit project delivers $15-20 of economic benefits for every dollar spent.  The events were a great opportunity for people to learn about the important role that family child care providers play in supporting struggling families and working parents.

This program, a true example of collaboration in action, was conceived by the New Haven Early Childhood Council and is implemented in partnership with the Connecticut Children's Museum.

You can read more about our events and the economic evaluation in CT News Junkie, the New Haven Register, and Public News Service. You can also listen to Jessica's radio interview with WICC 600AM.

And check out our op-ed in the CT Mirror, where we write about the importance of investing in family child care providers during these times of economic crisis.

One anonymous couple included this message with their recent donation:

"We wish we could afford a bushel of money for your great cause. We admire all of you so much for your wonderful work in helping those who need help."

In these challenging times, it is so wonderful to know how much you all care about our work. It energizes and inspires us to know that we have such terrific partners in the fight against educational inequity. Thank you, and happy holidays!
