NCAC welcomed three Korean National Police Agency Investigators for  training on November 30-December 4, 2015.
Linda Cordisco Steele and Chris Newlin presented Forensic Interviewing of Children Training and MDT Training to the officers.
During their week in Huntsville, they toured the NCAC Campus, experienced American cuisines, and visited the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.  The following week they flew to Los Angeles to train with Executive Director Nicole Farrell with the Stuart House CAC.

"Even though we are enjoying LA, the memory at the NCAC is the best and so impressive to us in USA. We have learned so many things from all of you. And it is very useful to improve our system on child abuse and sex crimes." Lomi
NCAC Librarians Selected for 
Premiere Library Conference
NCAC's Librarians, Muriel Wells and David King have been selected to present the research paper, CALiO - Cornerstone for Evidence-Based Practice for Nationally Dispersed Field Professionals, at the annual conference of the Special Libraries Association in June 2016.
Their paper is one of only nine papers accepted for the premiere conference of special libraries. 
Promoting Protective Factors for Victims of Child Abuse and Neglect: A Guide for Practitioners
This fact sheet presents information from a review of current research on specific protective factors that carry moderate or strong association with improved well-being for victims of child abuse and neglect. Topics include individual skills and capacities that can improve the well-being of children who have been abused or neglected; how parents, guardians, friends, and other adults can contribute to the well-being of these children and youth; strategies for practitioners; and resources for more information.

Chris also presented "Child Advocacy Centers and Sex Trafficking of Children: What are CACs doing? What should CACs be doing?" at the Multi-Disciplinary Team Response to Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children Training in Savannah, Georgia.

The ninth annual Art for Advocacy auction raised more than $300,000 for the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center. Over 100 pieces from local artists were auctioned off. The funds generated from this event are for the center's mission to investigate, prosecute and treat child abuse and to support its art therapy programs.

How Victim Age Affects the Context and Timing of Child Sexual Abuse: Applying the Routine Activities Approach to the First Sexual Abuse Incident
The aim of this study was to examine from the routine activities approach how victim age might help to explain the timing, context and nature of offenders' first known contact sexual abuse incident. Proximity of another person (adult and/or child) appeared to have little effect on offenders' decisions to abuse, although it had some impact on the level of intrusion and duration of these incidents.
