Greetings!

We know the school year has started, so we will try and keep this as brief as possible! We have a lot of great things to share with you.
New AIS Staff

Lesley Martin is taking over the responsibilities of membership coordinator previously held by Michelle Seitman. Working with Andrea Ashley-Aquil, registrar, Lesley will be handling the day-to-day member inquiries, assisting with registration processing, preparing monthly membership reports, and assisting with membership recruitment and retention programs.

Lesley has a broad background that includes work in healthcare, publishing, and event planning. She attended Clearwater Christian College and St. Pete College studying Business Administration. She has a 14-year-old son named Cody. She can be reached at [email protected]. Welcome Lesley!

Please also welcome Patrick Dockins who is assuming the position of component and external relations manager. This is a newly formed position which includes duties formerly handled by Tmitri Owens as well as Brian Lewis. (Brian is moving into a new capacity with the Raybourn Group International and we wish him much success.) Patrick will now be taking on these duties in addition to building new and reactivating inactive SIGs and chapters, developing leadership training programs, and managing relationships with affiliated conferences. He will be staff liaison for VP of Student Chapters.

Patrick has a B.S. in environmental administration from the University of Evansville and a M.S. in college student personnel from Western Illinois University. Before launching into his seven years in association management, he worked for North Central College in the office of community development running summer camps, conferences and continuing education programs. In his association career he has worked in chapter relations, membership and marketing as well as meetings and events. Patrick and his wife Kate, have two daughters. He can be reached at: [email protected]. Welcome Patrick!

Let me know if you have any questions.

SIGs/Chapters Recognition Program

This program is designed to recognize SIG and chapters that do an outstanding job of supporting the mission of AIS through the advancement of knowledge and the promotion of excellence in the practice and study of information systems.

SIGs and chapters will be evaluated by an AIS committee consisting of academic members who have an interest in SIGs and Chapters and will also be approved by the VP of SIGs and Chapters for this recognition based upon the revised annual report form and attached documentation. Outstanding SIGs and chapters will be recognized each year at the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) and/or the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS). Recognition will also be given in appropriate AIS electronic publications. To review the criteria and the template,

Roster Access

SIG and chapter rosters are now updated in real time and easily accessible to group leaders!

For instructions on accessing the group rosters, click here.

Why did we make these changes?

Efficiency and accuracy. Requiring you to login to two different pages to access a document that had to be manually created and uploaded by staff didn't make sense for members or staff. So we fixed it!

All SIGs/chapters need to identify one or more officers to serve as the group administrator. Your group may already have an admin - if you are not sure or need to change who has admin access, contact [email protected].
SIG Payments and Renewals

Joining and maintaining SIG and/or chapter membership is now easier than ever! When you renew your membership you can also renew and pay for your SIG/Chapter membership at the same time! For more detailed information, click here.
