Personal Money Planning's Newsletter
November 1, 2014
Gary Silverman, CFP

Welcome to November! It's time for winter sports, isn't it? If you are interested in curling, take a look at the article below.  We've also included my recent newspaper articles and a link to some helpful tips for the upcoming season.

Mark your calendars for Dec. 4! If you are in the Wichita Falls area, I invite you to attend our End of Year Seminar: Tax Update and Market Review. We are accepting RSVP's now (reply to this email or call the office at 940-692-6885). More information in the next newsletter and on our Events tab on our website.

Remember, daylight saving time ends this weekend (technically 2:00 AM November 2), so turn your clocks back before you go to bed Saturday night and enjoy that "extra" hour.

And also remember to get out and vote on November 4!

Most of you know that I'm a curling enthusiast. While I don't have a chance to play much anymore, I do want to give my readers an opportunity to try the sport. The D/FW Curling Club is hosting its next learn-to-curl from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 22. This will be a great opportunity to actually get on the ice and see what this strange little sport is all about. The cost to participate is $25 per person. If you want to go throw a stone, use their online form (click here) to register and save your spot.

The Nautilus

A little more than 38 years ago I became part of the Navy's nuclear propulsion program. The first nuclear powered submarine, the Nautilus, turned 60 a few weeks ago. Click here for an archival story from the Atlantic of one of the steps leading to that engineering milestone.
