Personal Money Planning's Newsletter
November 9, 2013
Gary Silverman, CFPThere are only 45 days until Christmas! That may seem like a shock (where did the year go?), but it's true. Speaking of shocks,  don't be shocked by an electric bill scam. Details below in Money 101. It's a good reminder to stay informed before you make decisions. This goes for opinions as well, as my Soapbox video demonstrates.

Most of my e-mail readers have strong opinions about Obamacare. They also have strong opinions about the Affordable Care Act. Hopefully your knowledge of the benefits and problems with both don't match the people in this video outtake from the Jimmy Kimmel Show. It's funny, but like many funny things in life, it's also sad. What I've found, as you'll see, is that most folks know they like or dislike the programs but really don't know why. Or, if they do know why, that why doesn't match the actual facts.

Take time to laugh at the serious issues. It can be a great stress reliever. The following link is to a recent Saturday Night Live skit poking fun at the problems of the recently launched Healthcare.gov. A warning: this does air late at night, so may not be appropriate for all audiences. Watch here...
