Gary Silverman, CFP
Welcome to the new newsletter subscribers from this week's Financial Planning Week seminar.! If you have anything you would like us to consider in future emails, please drop me or Tina (tina@personalmoneyplanning.com) a line.

This time we touch on the government shutdown, but also give you some tools to work on something you can control right now, your personal household budget.

Have a great week!

Government Shutdown and You
Certainly the government shut down is on all of our minds. You may be getting emails or calls from your friends and family filled with gloom and doom about what the future may hold. It may not seem like it, but we've been through similar crises before, and will again. If this is scaring you out of the market--you know "until things get better"-- you probably need to reevaluate if being IN the market is the best way for you to save money for your future. There's no shame in staying away form growth investments like stocks... It just means you'll either have to save more money and/or live on a more modest budget moving forward, but it's certainly doable. Of course, contact your financial advisor before making any drastic changes. He or she will be able to step back and help you look at the bigger picture, whether or not the government does the same.
