Article Headline | | Internet Safety Program
After the October 2012 Amanda Todd teen suicide, the Centre launched an Internet Safety program to help parents, educators and youth to engage social media safely and with discernment. We hosted three Internet Safety events on Salt Spring Island. With Raffi, we also co-founded the Red Hood Project.
We are proud to be a founding partner of this grassroots movement to make social media safe for young users. Currently we are helping Salt Spring Island Middle School with their own internet safety program for a month-long program of digital citizenship studies. They will be using the valuable and free resources from Common Sense Media, tailored to their needs, in conjunction with an effective public speaker to help launch their program in the new year. |
