Youth Pastor's Connection
There's no YPC during December.

We meet again on Jan. 21 with Chris Gehrz, history professor at Bethel University, member at Salem Covenant, writer and active  blogger. He'll be challenging us to think about the connection between youth ministry and pietism and other deep thoughts.
 
2016 dates: Feb. 18, March 17, April 21 and May 19.

 

Recharge 2016 - Twin Cities, Jan. 9

This is a high quality, one-day youth ministry & children's ministry leadership training event.

Minneapolis/St. Paul is Jan. 9, Duluth is Jan. 16, and Fargo is Jan. 23. Covenant churches will meet for lunch at the Twin Cities Recharge.

Covenant Youth Worker Connection
 Jan. 23 - 25, 2016

This unique event is designed specifically for Covenant youth pastors, workers and volunteers. Recharge and be equipped for ministry through fellowship, worship and encouragement. At YWC you will have the opportunity to grow as a leader and pastor, seek spiritual direction, connect with others and develop valuable skills for youth ministry.
 
We will spend time focusing on the future of youth ministry in the Evangelical Covenant Church, as well as be inspired by some of the most significant voices in youth ministry today.

Youth Ministry News

Congratulations to Jen and Logan Kahler on the birth of Hezekiah Saul Kahler! He was born on Nov. 28. Jen is the youth pastor at Fairmont Covenant Church.
 
Welcome Jason Groen to the NWC! Jason started serving at Crossroads Church in Woodbury on Nov. 16 as the high school pastor. Jason grew up in the Willmar, MN, area and graduated from North Central University with a bachelor's degree in youth ministry. He is married to Ellen and has one son, Silas. The past two years, Jason served at a church in Racine, WI. The Groens are excited to be back in the Twin Cities with family and friends.

Mark Yarhouse Seminar  
Feb. 27
Mark Yarhouse is the author of "Understanding Sexual Identity: A Resource for Youth Ministry," as well as a speaker, researcher, professor, elder and therapist. In other words, he knows what he's talking about when it comes to sexuality and the church.

Make sure to bring your youth ministry leadership team to this Saturday seminar on Feb. 27. Location to be announced.
 
MOVE
April 15-16
MOVE (Mission Outreach Venture and Experience) is April 15-16. It's two days of learning, serving and experiencing an urban environment for Northwest Conference high school students and leaders. More details to come. If you are interested in serving on the MOVE team, email ginny@northwestconference.org.
 
AIL
June 18-25
Adventures in Leadership is a weeklong leadership development experience for high school students who are nominated by their churches. Select students head to Adventurous Christians camp where they learn leadership principles and put them into action in the BWCA-all in a guided, challenging environment. If you're interested in nominating a leadership student in your ministry or in being an AIL leader, contact Jon Kramka at jon@northwestconference.org.
