Youth Pastor's Connection

You're not alone. The Connection is a great time to meet with other youth pastors who share your crazy calling to youth ministry. We meet once a month during the school year (except December) to connect with each other, to pray for each other, to learn and to be encouraged.

The kick-off is Thursday, 9/17, from 12-3 p.m. Bring your lunch and meet us at Salem Covenant, 2655 5th St NW, New Brighton, MN 55112 www.salemcov.org

Next month, we're meeting on 10/22, due to MEA.

Other Connection dates are November 19, January 21, February 18, March 17, April 21 and May 19.

Orange Tour - September 15

The Orange Tour hits the Twin Cities on September 15. This one-day event is designed for youth and children's ministry teams. A number of our NWC churches use Orange curriculum. Intrigued? Get a taste of Orange: http://www.orangetour.org

Recharge 2015 - January 10

This one-day youth ministry & children's ministry leadership training event is expanding to several cities in our area: Minneapolis/St. Paul is January 9, Duluth is January 16, and Fargo is January 23. For more info on Recharge, visit www.ministryrecharge.com

ECC Youth Workers Connection - January 23-25(ish)

Youth Worker Connection is a unique event designed specifically for Covenant youth pastors, workers, and volunteers. We will spend time focusing on the future of youth ministry in the Evangelical Covenant Church, as well as be inspired by some of the most significant voices in youth ministry today. MOVE - April 15-16

M.O.V.E. (Mission Outreach Venture and Experience) is April 15-16. It's two days of learning, serving and experiencing an urban environment for Northwest Conference high school students and leaders. More details to come.

Posture Shift with Bill Henson - Saturday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Maple Grove Covenant Church

An all-day learning opportunity for pastors, ministry staff, and key lay leaders w/Bill Henson

This is part of our ongoing effort to resource our pastors and churches in living faithfully and graciously into our Covenant position on human sexuality. Henson presented to 140 of our pastors in May and his presentation was well-received by those attending the event. He is founder of Lead Them Home, an organization that consults church leaders on building a biblically orthodox, missiological framework for church mission and ministry with LGBTQ persons, with a specialization in sharing Christ with non-heterosexual persons.

Henson has developed a framework for conversation and learning called Posture Shift, a national model reaching over 5,000 church leaders in recent years. His work has been featured in Leadership Journal and it has been incorporated as teaching curricula at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and Gordon College.

In addition:

If you're going to the Pastor's Retreat in October ...

We have scheduled two small group sessions at the Fall Retreat (one Monday afternoon, one Tuesday morning) with Dr. Gary Strauss around this same topic. These sessions are for those who have not already had the opportunity to sit in a group like this.
