Adventures in Leadership and Gather '14 taking place next week

Adventures in Leadership

Once again a select group of NWC high school students will be participating in our Adventures In Leadership (AIL) camp June 21-28, 2014. This remains a wonderful partnership between the NWC, Adventurous Christians Camp and our Conference churches.

We invite you to pray for this year's camp-for God's presence, student readiness, group safety, deep personal and group discovery, profound memories and God's full blessing for all involved. This experience continues to be transformational for NWC students.

ECC Gather '14

Gather '14, a "re-visioning of the Annual Meeting experience," will take place June 23-28 in Chicago.

The five-day Gather '14 event will encompass Experience Chicagoland, the Covenant Ministerium Annual Meeting, and the Covenant Annual Meeting. We invite you to pray for God's blessing on this important event and its participants.

NWC Annual Meeting highlights and resources online

With a theme of "Start Churches," the 2014 Northwest Conference Annual Meetings-for both the Ministerial Association and church delegates-took place at Rochester Covenant Church in Rochester, MN, May 1-3. Conference leadership announced "50 by '25: Our Mission to Plant," a new initiative to plant 50 churches in the region by 2025.

Youth Ministry

MUUUCE (Most Unbelievable Ultimate Urban Camping Experience)

Aug. 7-9, Crossroads Church, Woodbury, MN

Early bird registration cost for this EPIC jr. high/middle school event is $99 through June 30. From July 1-21, standard registration cost is $115. Registration closes July 21, or whenever capacity is reached. You can access registration materials at:

Youth Ministry

It's hard to believe that CHIC is just over a year away. CHIC is a triennial event in Knoxville, TN, where thousands of youth gather for small group Bible study and devotion, large group gatherings with speakers and music, and outdoor recreation.

Here are the prices:

$599 - Early Registration: Aug. 15, 2014 - Jan. 14, 2015
$649 - Normal Registration: Jan. 15 - April 14, 2015
$699 - Late Registration: April 15 - June 15, 2015
$599 - Scholarship Registration
$599 - Staff Registration

CHIC Transportation

The NWC will again be providing safe, reliable and economic bus transportation to and from CHIC. You get to hang out with students or sleep without worrying about highway construction or what to do if the bus breaks down.

We should have an idea of what the transportation cost will be by this July. (The bus company needs to wait until a year from the event in order to estimate fuel costs.) If your group is going to Knoxville early, staying longer, or wants to take a side trip, you can still go through the NWC for great bus prices.

2014 Retreat: Save the date

The NWC Ministerial Association Retreat for pastors, church ministry staff and spouses, will be held Oct. 6-8, 2014, at Ruttgers' Sugar Lake Lodge, just southwest of Grand Rapids, MN. For a look at this beautiful setting, visit www.sugarlakelodge.com.

Mark Novak will address the creation of high trust cultures and environments of grace in our various venues of spiritual influence, including staff relationships and church leadership.

Our website features a great tool for churches requesting or giving away materials and resources. On the Church Resource Bank page, you can browse available requests or give-aways, and submit a new resource to share with churches in need.
