Ministry Connection

Thursday, May 15 - Leading Up: How to lead well from the second chair

Tiger McLuen led
by Tiger McLuen from Youth Leadership (www.youthleadership.org)

Noon to 3 p.m. Bring a lunch.

Northwest Conference office, 3106 47th Avenue S., Minneapolis, MN 55406 612-721-4893

Leading well when you are not always given a seat at the decision-making table can present challenges. As an associate, part-timer or volunteer, how can you be an advocate and strong voice for children and family ministry? What are some practical ways you can influence those you work with to get stuff done, implement changes, and work with teams so ministry can go forward?

Anyone who works with children and families is welcome to attend this connection, including volunteers, parents and ministry leaders. We hope to see you there!

Mission Moments for VBS

Are you looking for a way to make your VBS more intentional? The Covenant church supports a Mission Moments for VBS project each year, now available for download here:

Technology and Teens Seminars

Led by Youth Leadership

4 metro locations, May 12, 14, 19 and 21

Our culture is changing at an incredibly fast pace. Being naive about technology is not only unhelpful, it is dangerous in today's world. Our kids are immersed in this culture-and any caring adult, parent, volunteer or grandparent will benefit from the information presented in this seminar in order to love, protect, guide and support our kids.

NWC Family Go: Serve

Our first NWC Family event, Go: Serve, happened on Saturday, April 26, at Redeemer Covenant Church in Brooklyn Park, MN.

Highlights included packing enough food to feed 63 kids for a year at Feed My starving children, sorting 3,000 pounds of clothing at ARC, preparing 600 sandwiches for homeless people and collecting 310 pounds of food for the Brooklyn Park Area food shelf.

In addition, families were sent to local markets to purchase different ethnic food items to eat and share with others, with opportunities to share publicly about how their family plans to continue to live a life of service.

Read a full recap from the day on our Go: Serve page.

If you attended Go: Serve and have a story to share about how God is working in the lives of your kids and families, please send that to Kara Stromberg -
kara@northwestconference.org.
