2014 Annual Meeting

Register now for the 2014 NWC Annual Meeting in Rochester, MN

The 2014 NWC Annual Meeting will take place May 1-3 at Rochester Covenant Church, Rochester, MN. We've got great speakers and events lined up this year! Here's a few highlights:

Theme

The Northwest Conference is on the move! And part of that movement involves planting new churches as an expression of our desire to advance the Kingdom of God, as well as reflect our love for both God and those for whom Christ died and rose again.

It is also a reflection of our willingness to live in obedience to our Lord's admonition to share His love in both word and deed. More will be shared at the Annual Meeting on how we intend to do just that ...

Speaker

John Teter is the Church Planting Team Leader for the Evangelical Covenant Church. Teter also serves as Senior Pastor of Fountain of Life Covenant Church in Long Beach, CA, which he and his wife, Becky, planted in 2007.

A Bible expositor, Teter has written two books, "Get the Word Out" and "Jesus & the Hip Hop Prophets," co-authored with Alex Gee.

Ministry Fair

The Friday Business Session will conclude with the "Celebration of Mission" Ministry Fair. Delegates and attendees will have an opportunity to learn about and interact with a whole host of conference-related ministries including representatives from our camps, Women Ministries, Town & Country Ministries, Covenant Trust Company, CHET and many more.

For more details as they become available, and to register online, visit our 2014 Annual Meeting page.

Covenant Trust Company Lunch

Covenant Trust Company (CTC) would like to extend an invitation to pastors, staff and lay leaders of churches in the Northwest Conference to join them for lunch on Thursday, May 1, at 1 p.m. The lunch will take place at Rochester Covenant Church, just prior to the start of the Ministerial Association Annual Meeting.

CTC representatives, Kevin Lawson and Steve Allison will be hosting a catered lunch from Famous Dave's. It will be a great opportunity to hear about the history of CTC as they celebrate their 25th anniversary. They will discuss how CTC can work with churches and other ministries as well as individuals, including a special benefit just for Covenant pastors. A specific focus will also be made on the new Endowment Services that are offered through CTC and how your church can utilize the services of CTC to establish and run your own endowment. CTC values the partnership with the pastors, churches and ministries of the Northwest Conference. If you are interested in finding out more about how they can partner with your church or ministry, please contact Kevin Lawson or Steve Allison to register for this complimentary lunch and presentation.

CHET workshop at Minnehaha Academy a 'joyful time of ministry'

This past weekend, Wilson Herrera from the ECC department of Christian Formation was in the Twin Cities to lead a workshop for CHET at Minnehaha Academy. Herrera stated that it was a very intense and joyful time of ministry. Further, he expressed thanks for the support of the NWC and churches joining together to make it all possible. Over 30 people participated in the gathering. Some of the participants shared the following:

  • "It was a teaching that impacted me and put a strong foundation in my life. And I believe it will bring abundant life to me, my family and to others as well."
  • "Thanks to God for giving me the opportunity to participate in this workshop."
  • "Actually, the teaching with its Biblical foundations was a real blessing to me."

Pastor Steven Larson from Redeemer Covenant Church (Brooklyn Park) stated, "I was so blessed through your [Wilson's] ministry at Redeemer Covenant Church today. I know that the church body of Redeemer Covenant and La Bendición Churches were greatly blessed through your ministry of God's Word. Thank you for being faithful to the call of Christ and leading of the Holy Spirit!"

We are grateful for the continued growth of ministry that we are seeing through the extension of CHET in the NWC!
