Do your families have 'Sticky Faith?'
Dr. Kara Powell, author of 'Sticky Faith,' to speak THIS weekend!

NWC Annual Meeting, April 26-27

Minnehaha Academy, Minneapolis, MN

FREE

Did you know studies show over 50% of church-going young people walk away from their faith after graduating from high school? Dr. Kara Powell, director of Fuller Youth Institute and author of "Sticky Faith," has researched this phenomenon and will present her findings at the NWC Annual Meeting this weekend. Kara's presentations are appropriate for parents and anyone in church leadership who cares about the next generation having a faith that sticks beyond VBS and youth group.

You are also invited to a special NWC dessert reception to discuss the "Sticky Faith" research with others who are trying to live this out in their churches. Join Kara Stromberg, director of Children & Family Ministry, and Ginny Olson, director of Youth Ministry, in the upper campus center at Minnehaha Academy following Friday night's worship service for dessert, music and great discussion of the practical implications of "Sticky Faith."

Thursday, May 16, Noon to 3 p.m.

Northwest Conference Office

Children and Family Ministers joined the Youth Worker Connection last month to hear Michael Novelli speak about the art of biblical storying.

In spite of the snowstorm, it was a great start for our first attempt to gather Children & Family Ministry leaders and volunteers. We'll gather again next month, so make plans to join us on Thursday, May 16, from Noon to 3 p.m. at the Conference office. Our topic of conversation will be "engaging families."

Bring a lunch and plan to spend time sharing ideas, meeting new people and encouraging each other. Hope to see you there!

Two Covenant churches to host Biblical Parenting seminars

Parenting PosterShowing honor ... Helping at home ... Taking initiative ... Following instructions ... Bringing peace ... Being responsible ... Showing self-control ... Developing contentment ... What do these things have in common?

The National Center for Biblical Parenting is coming to teach their biblical parenting seminars. The material taught is practical and demonstrates what a heart-based approach to parenting actually looks like on a day-to-day basis. No matter how old your child is, you'll want to take time to attend at least one of these events.

A heart-based approach goes deeper than just behavior, or reward and punishment. This approach changes what children believe, and that changes kids from the inside out.
