The Art of Bible Storying
Thursday, April 18 12 - 3 p.m. Bethlehem Covenant (3141 43rd Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN 55406) www.bethlehemcov.org Bring your lunch, and your church's children's worker, for a time of connecting and a new way of looking at teaching. Do the students in your group think Noah was part of the Easter story? Do they yawn and pull out their phones when it's time for Bible study? If that sounds familiar, come participate in THE ART OF BIBLE STORYING WORKSHOP.
Join us for a Bible Storying experience, an imaginative way to engage in the Scriptures through storytelling, creative reflection, and lively dialogue. Together, we'll explore how this learner-centered approach helps participants discover meaning and identity in the biblical narrative. Our speaker is Michael Novelli. For more than two decades, his passion has been to explore the intersection of spiritual formation and experiential learning. This drive continues to fuel his work as a content designer, church youth leader, and community advocate. He has a M.Ed. in Integrated Learning and serves as a senior curriculum developer for sparkhouse, creating learner-centered resources and experiences for children, youth and adults. Michael, his wife Michele and children, Angelo and Abrielle, live in Elgin, Ill. Bonus: this month we're joining together with our conference's children's workers! The NWC's Children's ministry is growing under the leadership of Kara Stromberg and Children's Commission and they are starting a Children's Ministry Connection. Bring your church children's worker(s) with you and help this group as they launch.
Coming Connections: May 16 - Dr. Paul Eddy, Biblical and Theological Studies professor at Bethel University, will be talking about theology and youth ministry. |
