Children & Family Ministry
Spring Luncheon

CF Feb 13 Luncheon Who: All NWC Children & Family Ministry staff ministers and key volunteers
Date: Thursday, Feb. 28
Time:
10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Cost: $5
Location: Crossroads Church, 5900 Woodbury Drive, Woodbury, MN 55129

Our speaker, Scott Peterson, has worked with kids for over 30 years. He's a native Minnesotan who has served as the children's pastor at Redwood Covenant Church in Santa Rosa, CA, for the past 19 years. Scott says he learned everything he knows about ministry at Lake Beauty Covenant Bible Camp in Long Prairie, MN. He describes his ministry as "looking more like a camp than a church."

In addition to being the author of the new FREE curriculum, Hello Friends, available at covchurch.org, Scott recently led a popular seminar on the importance of children's ministry at Midwinter.  Scott has seen Redwood Covenant's ministry to children grow from 30 to 500 kids in the 19 years he's been there.

Come learn about Redwood's mistakes, joys, experiments, and failures when an exploding children's ministry changes a church culture in exciting and terrifying ways. We hope you can join us for a day of learning, worship, lunch and new ideas. Senior pastors, ministry teams, and anyone else who wants to learn about the importance of Children & Family Ministry are invited.

RSVP to the NWC office or kara@nwc-cov.org

It's time to start selecting delegates for the 2013 NWC Annual Meeting

We are putting the finishing touches on plans for the 2013 NWC Annual Meeting-which will take place April 25-27 at Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis, MN-and we've got some very exciting new speakers and events this year! Print promotional materials have been mailed to your church. Here's a few of the new elements for 2013:

Speakers

ECC President Gary Walter will be the featured speaker during the Ministerial Association Annual Meeting. Come hear about the great things happening throughout the denomination.

 Kara Powell

Kara Powell, author of "Sticky Faith," (stickyfaith.org) will speak during the NWC Annual Meeting Worship Service on Friday, April 26. The service is open to everyone, not just delegates or attendees of the Annual Meeting, so spread the word. Powell will share again on Saturday morning, April 27.

Ministry Fair

The Friday Business Session will conclude with the "Celebration of Mission" Ministry Fair. Delegates and attendees will have an opportunity to learn about and interact with a whole host of conference-related ministries including representatives from our camps, Women Ministries, Town & Country Ministries, Covenant Trust Company, CHET and many more.

Minnehaha Centennial

Throughout the meeting, tours of Minnehaha Academy will be available, and opportunities to learn about the school will be featured during the meeting as well.

On Saturday afternoon, after the NWC Annual Meeting concludes, attendees are invited to participate in a local Centennial Mission Service Project called "Covenant Partners Community Service Day." MA students, parents and alumni will work alongside members of NWC churches to assist those in the neighborhood with home projects.

Stick around for the Minnehaha Academy Centennial Celebration and Worship service on Sunday, April 28.

It's not too early to start selecting delegates and making plans to attend this year's meeting. For more details as they become available, visit our 2013 Annual Meeting page.

Introduction to Covenant Trust

Covenant Trust Company (CTC) is said to be one of the best-kept secrets in the Covenant. We want to change that. Our mission is to serve the members, friends and ministries of the church with excellent financial services.

We at CTC know how hard it is to find someone you trust to manage your money, someone who shares your values of faith and family. We also know that prudent asset management is essential in planning for the future and a solid retirement. Our goal is to integrate faith, family and finances, and to provide prudent, disciplined money management and trustee services to all members and friends of the Covenant. We are your financial services partner, always focusing on your best interests.

Through prudent asset management, retirement planning, and legacy/trustee services, CTC is there as your financial services partner. It's time to take a look at Covenant Trust Company!

You are invited to join Covenant Trust Company president, Ann Wiesbrock, along with our local CTC representatives, Kevin Lawson and Steve Allison, to hear more about what Covenant Trust Company does and how we can be of service to you and your church. Come for an engaging presentation and stay for coffee and cake and meet the Covenant Trust Company team.

For more information, please contact Kevin Lawson at 1-877-222-3960 or kelawson@covenanttrust.com

Church Resource Bank

Our website features a great tool for churches requesting or giving away materials and resources. On the Church Resource Bank page, you can browse available requests or give-aways, and submit a new resource to share with churches in need.

NWC Ministry Priorities series
View, embed and share our new videos on Vimeo

Our 2012 Annual Meeting included the debut of three new videos highlighting the Ministry Priorities of the Northwest Conference. Each video features interview segments with church staff, lay leaders and pastors, intermixed with animations of statistics and key statements designed to help explain each priority.

The videos are designed for use throughout the year in church new member classes, services and other adult education opportunities to help congregations better understand and engage the work of the NWC. The delegates from each church left with a DVD copy of the videos, and the series is available on the NWC web site's video page (www.nwc-cov.org/resources/videos) and Vimeo Channel (http://vimeo.com/channels/northwest).
