Dear Family and Friends,
So much happens every year. It is easier to share all the Davila Family news with the most people in an electronic newsletter. Enjoy!
Don't forget to download the images to see pictures of the kids. They are growing so big!

Year in Review
Looking back over 2012, it's no wonder the year flew by. I am amazed at how much can change in one year.
We had our usual year full of...school, Hebrew School, Girl Scouts, friends, work, etc. and the not so usual....
In July, we said good-bye to DJ. It still makes me cry. But after 12 years without my mom, I know the ups and downs of grief. Its normal to cry and miss loved ones. Its also normal to celebrate the good times in their absence. At least she was present for Alex's Bar Mitzvah. He did an amazing job. Click on the links for Ceremony pictures and Party pictures.
We are in the process of buying a house and should close escrow early in January. The kids are looking forward to finally having their own rooms and I'm hoping they quit some of the fighting. We'll have lots more room and hopefully can get back to having parties again. It's in Santee, across the street from where we are living now. But is has a beautiful backyard and pool! No office door, but I have a whole loft. Can't wait to see what the new year will bring in the new space.
Overall, it was a good year. Now catch up with...

Ashley- 9 years, 4th Grade
Ashley hasn't changed much in the past year. Except maybe a bit taller, more girlie, and taking greater pleasure in picking on her brother.
She is in 4th grade this year and in her second year of Hebrew School. She doesn't like it, but she has to prepare for her Bat Mitzvah--Save the Date: March 26, 2016. Her teachers love her. She is still doing Girl Scouts. She loves to listen to music and watch cat videos on YouTube. She still likes to act like a cat too!

Alex- 13 years, 8th Grade
A big bad Ocho, Alex is almost done with middle school. He blew everyone away with his Bar Mitzvah. He might be a man in the Jewish faith, but left to himself, he'd spend all his time playing video games, babysitting for friends or cooking and shooting with PopPop. In the coming year, he'll be entering High School. Oh, my!

From our family to yours...May you have a happy holidays and a prosperous New Year!

Damian
Damian celebrated his 3rd year anniversary with Sparkletts and is still going strong. He loves his job and the people he works with. He knows it doesn't get better than this! Especially when we're taking on a mortgage!

Rachael
Same things, another year! My business is good and growing, teaching is easier now that I have it figured out, and writing...writing is so much fun! I finished one full manuscript and pitched and submitted it to an editor. I've taken on the position of editor for the Romance Writers-local chapter newsletter. I traveled a lot this summer and saw many friends and family. I share a lot on Facebook of the doings of the Davila Clan, so if you want to know more... follow me there. |
