At the May 10th Township Committee Meeting, the Mayor and Township Committee joined the Somerset County Commission on the Status of Women in saluting  Hillarie Scannelli for being honored with the "Business/Entrepreneurs/Information Technology" award at the Annual Outstanding Women in Somerset County awards dinner.

Ms. Scannelli became interested in rigorous workouts and weight training at a young age as a gymnast and cheerleader, and went on to become a professional cheerleader in 1986 working for Donald Trump's New Jersey General USFL team.

Hillarie and her husband, Michael are the owners of !MPACT Training, where they hope to make an impact in their community by teaching health, wellness and fitness to adults, teens and children.  They are also on the Board of Steps Together and run several charity events donating 100% of the proceeds to charity.

The Scannellis have volunteered their time coaching flag football with Hillsborough Jr. Raiders organization when their sons were younger, and Ms. Scannelli continues today to provide a free annual nutritional lecture for the Jr. Raider athletes, as well as the Hillsborough High School Football team, and the Boys and Girls track teams.

Nowacki and McCarthy Named Top Cops for 2016

Congratulations to Hillsborough Township Police Officers Patrolman Stephen Nowacki and Patrolman Scott McCarthy on being named the 2016 Top Cop Award Recipients.  The Hillsborough Township Police Department continues this program, intended to recognize the performance of its top rated Officers.  Each year, one officer from each of the two patrol squads are selected as the Top Cops.  This award is unique because it is primarily based on evaluations of the officer's performance by both peers and supervisors.  These two veteran officers are being recognized for excellence in police service.

FREE Spring Rabies Clinics

The local health departments in our area are sharing information about rabies vaccination clinics in order to encourage residents to have their pets protected against the rabies virus. Rabies is present in wildlife in New Jersey- Mostly in raccoons, bats, skunks, foxes, and groundhogs. It is transmitted through the saliva and central nervous system fluid of infected animals, and is fatal. The best defense against rabies is a current rabies vaccination for domestic pets. Bridgewater Township is now offering vaccination clinics for dogs and cats, and the clinics are open to all New Jersey Residents:

Finderne Firehouse
