Somerset County Seeks Help in Determining Residents' Needs for Grant Funding

Community Development Office survey due by April 24

Somerset County Freeholder Brian D. Levine invites residents to take a survey to assist in determining how approximately $6.5 million in federal housing and community development grants will be used.   Survey results, along with statistical information, will be a critical part in making this determination.

Every five years, the Somerset County Community Development Office creates a new Consolidated Plan, which outlines the county's strategies to address affordable housing, homelessness and economic opportunities for county residents.

"We look forward to hearing from residents about what they consider priority issues facing the Somerset County community so we can better meet those needs," said Freeholder Levine, human services liaison.  "A few minutes of your time will provide necessary information to help guide future funding decisions."

As part of the Consolidated Plan, the Community Development Office is conducting a survey to determine priorities for the committee that determines how grant funds will be awarded. All responses to the survey are anonymous and confidential and will only be included in combination with other responses for statistical purposes.

You can complete an online survey in English at http://bit.ly/CDESurveyOnline or in Spanish at http://bit.ly/CDSSurveyOnline. The deadline for responses is Friday, April 24.
