Township Receives Workplace Safety Award for the 5th Consecutive Year
|
Monetary Award of $2,000 Accompanies this Recognition
"Hillsborough Township earned the Certificate of Achievement and a $2,000 monetary award in recognition of the Township's Exceptional Safety Performance during 2014," announced Deputy Mayor Greg Burchette, Liaison to the Department of Public Works. "This is the 5th consecutive year the Township has qualified as Exceptional, the highest classification the Central Jersey Joint Insurance Fund has. Every employee at the Township plays a role in promoting good safety practices, but special recognition should be given to all of the members of both Public Works and Parks, for their contributions which resulted in the Township receiving this award again this year," added Deputy Mayor Burchette. The Township of Hillsborough applied to, and was accepted as, a member of the Central Jersey Joint Insurance Fund (CJJIF) in 2000. Membership into any JIF is voted on by the existing member towns, and a municipality's financial stability and insurance claims history are deciding factors in the process.
