"Going for the Gold" - Spectacular Senior Olympics

Going for the Gold in our Golden Years was the theme of the first ever Hillsborough Township sponsored Senior Olympics last week, held at the Township's Ann Van Middlesworth Park.  Over 80 participants took part in various events such as basketball, pickleball, bocce, horseshoes, ladder ball, corn hole and the softball throw.  Committeewoman Gloria McCauley greeted the Olympians with a warm welcome and introduced special guest, 4-time Olympian Joetta Clark Diggs.  Ms. Diggs provided an inspirational message to the Senior Olympians and kicked off the start of the games.  Upon the conclusion of the competition, Bronze, Silver and Gold medals were awarded to the participants during the Closing Ceremony which culminated with a performance by the Hillsborough Rockettes and Rocket.
