"We are humbled to honor our Veterans with a focal point at the entrance to the complex," commented Mayor Tomson.

Hillsborough continues to honor those men and women who have taken up the call to serve our nation and protect our freedom.  In addition to the Annual Salute to Veterans Breakfast, Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony at the Garden of Honor on Memorial Day, Hillsborough Township hosts the Purple Heart Program in August, as well as a Veterans Day Ceremony in November.

Movies That Matter!

Join us in September for our bi-annual MOVIES THAT MATTER series! We'll be showing the documentary "FED UP" about how Sugar and Metabolic Syndrome is destroying the health of our nation and it's great asset- Our Children.

The greatest villain to appear on movie screens this summer isn't a serial killer, terrorist or giant monster. It's sugar.

How evil a villain is it? According to the new documentary "Fed Up" (opening May 9 in select cities), sugar -- currently added to 80 percent of processed foods on U.S. store shelves -- is responsible for America's rising obesity rate, which is occurring despite the tremendous emphasis placed on exercise and portion control for those who are overweight.

Free Spay Neuter Vouchers For Community Cats in Hillsborough

Program Helps Reduce Population of Feral Cats

Did you know that in just one year a single unaltered cat could have several litters of 4 to 6 kittens each?  To help combat this problem and reduce the number of homeless kittens born, St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center and the Township of Hillsborough have teamed up to promote the spay/neuter of community cats through a free voucher program for a limited time.  To make it easier on residents, St. Hubert's helps with the humane trapping and transport of the cats.

Vouchers are available to Hillsborough homeowners (with proof of residency) who are caring for cats located within the Township of Hillsborough at both the Madison and North Branch Shelters.  Residents can also call 908-526-3330 and a voucher can be delivered directly to their door.  These vouchers were originally $10, but are now free to residents through the generosity of Brad Benson of Brad Benson Autogroup.

Update from JCP&L
We want to make you aware of a long-running, nationwide utility scam that is again being reported in New Jersey. The scam involves a caller posing as an electric company employee threatening to shut off power unless an immediate payment is made, using a pre-paid debit card such as a Green Dot card.

These pre-paid cards are available at convenience stores and drug stores, and customers can use them to pay bills or add money to online accounts. However, JCP&L does not endorse the use of Green Dot cards as a bill payment method.

If a customer receives a call from someone demanding payment of their electric bill by using a Green Dot card, they are being scammed and should report the crime to local authorities. Although our company representatives sometimes do call customers to remind them that a payment is past due, they explain how a payment can be made using one of the following established payment options:

*      Direct Debit
*      Automated Phone Payment - 1-866-569-4770
*      Authorized Payment Location - www.firstenergycorp.com/forms/paymentagencies
*       Mail

Any customer who has doubts about a call from someone claiming to be from JCP&L, especially one demanding immediate payment, should call JCP&L's customer service number at 1-800-662-3115. For more information, visit www.firstenergycorp.com/paymentoptions.
