Hillsborough Library Advisory Board Marches in the Memorial Day Parade on Sat. May 24th
|
Strollers, scooters, walkers and hoppers -- The Hillsborough Public Library's Advisory Board is welcoming one and all to march alongside other fans of the library, books, Hillsborough and, most importantly, our honored veterans for its second consecutive year in the Township's Memorial Day Parade to be held on Saturday, March 24th. The Board members encourage all interested Hillsborough residents to join them by registering either at the Children's Desk or on the LibraryInsight Programs website ahead of time. Registration sign up is now open. Library Advisory Board Parade Coordinator Leslie Wise stated that "we are very excited about marching again this year, taking our place among all the organizations that wish to honor our veterans and remember their contributions. Last year, we found that families who weren't involved in other organizations were happy to be able to march with our Library, which belongs to everyone in town. We enjoy being part of this Parade and welcome all marchers to learn more about Memorial Day at our Library!" Parade participants will meet at the CVS on Triangle Road at 10:00 AM, and the parade will begin at 10:30 AM. There will be a ceremony following the parade at the Garden of Honor in front of the Municipal Complex. For more information on the Memorial Day Parade, please visit the website at http://www.somerset.lib.nj.us/hillsborough.htm or call the library at (908) 369-2200.
