Hillsborough Ranked Among New Jersey's Safest Towns
|
Hillsborough Township was ranked among the top 50 "Safest Communities" in the State of New Jersey, according to Mayor Doug Tomson at Tuesday's Township Committee meeting this week. "It is my honor to announce that Hillsborough has been ranked the 19th Safest Community in New Jersey," stated Mayor Doug Tomson. "We pride ourselves on all that Hillsborough Township has to offer to all those who live and work here, striving to maintain fiscal responsibility while maintaining a safe and attractive community remains our goal," added Mayor Tomson. The SafeWise Report released its "50 Safest Communities in New Jersey" list earlier this month, naming Hillsborough Township the 19th Safest Community in New Jersey. To compile this report, SafeWise used the most recent FBI crime data from 2011, population, and other ranking factors, like unique safety initiatives and security programs implemented within the past few years. From the hundreds of communities in New Jersey, the list was narrowed down to 50 and assigned rankings according to how the city met the criteria. For more information, click here...
