Township Committee Honors Retiring Public Works Director for 36+ Year Career    

The Township Committee recently honored retiring DPW Director, Buck Sixt. Buck was honored at a recent Township Committee meeting with a proclamation, presented by the Township Committee, for his 36 plus year career in the Department of Public Works.

Mayor Frank DelCore Hosts Cub Scouts  

Mayor Frank DelCore hosted members of Cub Scout Pack 389 to satisfy their requirement to meet with a community leader and learn about the duties of their position.

This requirement was part of their Citizenship Badge, which focuses on the rights and duties being a U.S. citizen along with the history and respect for the U.S. flag.

The Pack met in the Mayor's office for the discussion and then proceeded to the Municipal Courtroom where the Township Committee Meetings are held.

Holiday Spirits Brightly Lit Despite Dismal Weather at Township's Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

On Friday December 6th, Santa came to town to light the Township Christmas Tree via the Flagtown Fire Department Fire truck.  Despite the rainy weather, Santa found his way to the township's Christmas Tree. 

Once the tree was lit, everyone ventured in doors to visit with Santa and snack on cookies and hot chocolate.

2013 Community Holiday Dinner  

The 2013 Community Holiday Dinner will take place on December 25th 2pm-4pm at Ted Blum 4H Center of Somerset County 310 Milltown Road, Bridgewater, NJ.  This dinner is at no cost to those who attend, but you must have reservations to be seated. Seating is limited to 200 so call early! RSVP: 4-H Office 908-526-6644 By 12/18/13

HMS/ARIS 2013-2014 Discount Cards are on sale now at a cost of $10.00 each, with all proceeds going to ARIS and HMS school programs and teacher grants.   The card includes reusable discounts shown below from 36 local businesses; valid through 9/30/14. Additional details are noted on the actual Discount Card.  Special Promotion:  Buy 5 cards, get 1 card free!

If you would like to purchase a discount card, please email Wendy Holt, HMS HSA Discount Card Committee Chairperson, at wenholt@aol.com.  Purchases will be redeemed quickly upon receipt of payment (checks only).

Please note:  If you have students at either ARIS or HMS, you will be given opportunities to purchase Discount Cards at their respective Open Houses in August, and through fliers distributed the first week of school.
