Route 206 By Pass Opening

State and Local officials were on hand to welcome Governor Chris Christie to Hillsborough for the road opening

Earlier this week a the service road off of Amwell Road connecting to the mid-section of the Route 206 By Pass was transformed to a gathering place for Governor Chris Christie and many local officials to open Phase One of the Peter J. Biondi By Pass.  Hillsborough Township Mayor Frank DelCore welcomed the guests and recounted many of the late Assemblyman's contributions to the community.  Affectionately known as "Mr. Hillsborough", Assemblyman Peter Biondi was a tireless and dedicated public servant.

"This bypass is a vital part of our Economic Development.  Not only will the bypass lessen congestion and traffic along the existing Route 206 but will also pave the way toward the future Town Center that is envisioned in our Township Master Plan," stated Mayor DelCore during his opening remarks.

The Mayor thanked the Christie Administration, the NJDOT, the local Legislators, his colleagues on the Township Committee and Township employees for their diligence in making this vision a reality.
Honored guests include the late Assemblyman's wife, Joan Biondi and her family along with various dignitaries.  Speakers for the event in addition to Mayor DelCore were Governor Chris Christie, Senator Kip Bateman, and NJDOT Commissioner James Simpson.
