Township Committee Honors Middle School Softball Team     

The Hillsborough Middle School Softball team was recently honored at a Township Committee meeting with a proclamation.  The team had a 15-1 season and won the 2013 Central Jersey Junior Softball League Championship.  

Congratulations team on a job well done!

During the summer months Hillsborough Township and surrounding areas offer a variety of fun activities and events to attend. FREE Music in the Park Concert Series

The Hillsborough Education Foundation (HEF), in conjunction with the Hillsborough Parks and Recreation Department, is pleased to announce:  FREE Music in the Park Concert Series Thursday's starting June 27th from 7:00-8:30 PM at Ann Van Middlesworth Park; to get there take Amwell Road to Pleasant View Road (after High School, head West for ½ mile)

Free Child Seat Inspections July 20

The Somerset County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the Somerset County Traffic Officers Association, will hold a FREE Child Safety Seat event this weekend.  A Child Safety Seat Technician will inspect car seats at Washington School on First Avenue in Raritan from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 20.

Shred It - Event July 20th - Montgomery

A reminder to all Hillsborough residents, Operation Secure Shred sponsored d by Somerset County, hosts shredding events throughout the year.  The next event will be held on Saturday, July 20th at the Montgomery Fire Co. #1, located at 33 Griggstown Road.  
The event will be held rain or shine, from 9am until 1pm.  

Shred It events provide the opportunity for all Somerset County residents to securely dispose of their confidential papers in a secure manner.  These events are held throughout the county at various locations and dates.

Groundbreaking Reads - The Art of Mark Klinger   

July 27 at 1 p.m. If you've ever wondered about the process of recreating an ancient animal in its natural habitat, this is the program for you!  You will be amazed as Mark Klinger, Scientific Illustrator for the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, reconstructs through artistic techniques, renditions of prehistoric animals.  See the primitive world come alive through art!  Families with children ages ten and up are welcome.

'Choose Your Cover' Skin Cancer Screening, Giveaways, Resources in Bridgewater

July 28 at Duke Island Park, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Regional Chronic Disease Coalition (RCDC) of Morris and Somerset counties is sponsoring free skin cancer screening for adults ages 18 and over who are not under the care of a dermatologist on Sunday, July 28, from 5 to 7 p.m., rain or shine. Screening will be at the Somerset County Park Commission's Duke Island Park Visitors Center on a first come, first served basis. No appointment or registration is required.

SAVE the DATE - Township Campout & Fishing Derby Set for August 2nd at AVM Park    

Mark your calendars - The Annual Family Campout and Fishing Derby is set for Friday, August 2nd at Ann Van Middlesworth Park (AVM).

Enjoy a family night of camping, fishing, fun and games. The evening, which begins at 5 p.m. for the fishing derby and 6 p.m. for the dinner at the campout, includes fishing, games, prizes and live music and is open to all Township residents who've registered in advance. The registration deadline is July 30th.

Hillsborough Township Offers Extended Hours for the Health Department

User Friendly Approach - Other Offices with Extended Hours, Construction Office Tuesdays and Thursdays Until 7pm and the Clerk's Office 2nd & 4th Tuesdays Until 7pm

Hillsborough residents are reminded that the Township's Health Department is offering extended hours one (1) evening a month.

The Health Department / Registrar of Vital Statistics will be open one (1) evening a month (4th Tuesday) from 4-7pm.

The Office of Vital Statistics offers the following services for Township Residents:  certified copies of all vital records, including marriage / civil union certificates, birth and death certificates, again provided the event occurred in Hillsborough, and marriage / civil union licenses for residents by appointment only.   Residents can also utilize this time to drop off food items and donations for the Hillsborough Food Pantry and pick up recycling buckets at the Office of Vital Statistics during these extended hours. 

Farmers Market Vouchers Available For Older Adults in Somerset County   

Starting Monday, July 8, eligible seniors can obtain $20 worth of vouchers to buy New Jersey fresh produce such as fruits, vegetables and herbs. These free vouchers can be used at participating farmer's markets in Somerset County until Nov. 30 this year.

People interested in applying may visit the Somerset County Office on Aging & Disability Services, located in the Human Services Building at 27 Warren St., between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday through Friday. Vouchers will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Eligible individuals must be residents of Somerset County and be at least 60-years-old. Income guidelines require that an individual's annual income not exceed $21,257, and a married couple's annual income not exceed $28,694.

Veterans of America Day

Veterans of America Day will be celebrated at TD Bank Ballpark 1 Patriots Park Bridgewater, NJ on Sunday August 18 2013 at 4pm. After the celebration enjoy the game between the Patriots and the Skeeters at 5:05 pm. Veterans will receive free tickets.
